Not sure, but I have a Wasco W245 that has the same problem - I believe it is caused by the water pressure being too high. I never had the problem then I was feeding the machine with 5/8th inch hose, but when I switched to the 1" hose that is when the problem started. I just put up with it cause I like the faster fill.

On your cold water valve there should be a restrictor on the valve where the water fills the softner. You may need a new one. OR clamp down on the hose feeding the softner compartment.

There is a hooked shaped tube in the softener pit that you can pull out. It's a little hard to pull out but it's suppose to come out for cleaning, it's stopped up with dried or gummed up softener.

This happens on 2 of my W75's. I'm going to try clamping the input hose this weekend. It happens because the water pressure is too strong for some reason, and the water supply for the compartment shoots the water across the compartment, not down into it. There is a little flap of rubber on the box seal, but it is impotent. It might also be that the rubber dispenser covers just aren't sealing the way they should -- why else would these 2 machines start doing this out of nowhere?
