I have 3 mats. mat 1) is 2 years old average gas use 993 therms month. with all dexter washers and dryers and 2 poloma on demand water heaters. Mat2) all dexter washers which 10 are express and 2 tpl and regular water heater 10 year old a guess, and 3 year old SQ stack dryers. uses 1000 therms gas. Mat 3) has 5 year old regular water heater a mix of 18 wascomat,10 SQ, 2 dexter and 12 tpl washers, . dryers are 7 single 20 year old sq and 13 stack 10 year old wascomat dryers . my gas usage is 1179 at that mat. the item I find interesting and need to study is the monthly income difference in gross, MAT1, does $7300 more than MAT 2 and $3000 more than mat3 a month. MAT3 has the oldest of equipment so more consumption of gas I understand . but MAT 2 washers are 7 months new dryers 3 years new and the water heater is 10 year old a guess. If I were going to buy new equipment to lower gas use where should I begin

Can beat your head against a wall:)
My mat # 3 which was brand new stuff 2005 burns more gas than any other mat I owned.. Maytag dryers, washers, tankless heators. I am going to adjust the gas valves in the next week or two, maybe the will help. My mat # 1, Dexter washer, dryer all new 2000 and tannkless has the lowest therm usgae of the bunch, and I have no clue why. MAt # 2 in the middle is in the middle. SQ dryer, tankless.
Now, where is that wall?

what do you mean by adjusting the gas valves? I have the same problem. All new energy efficient equipment but the gas bill is triple the water and almost double the electric. I don't get it.

I am changing the wc pressure on gas valves, but have raised the high heat temp. I did this because of fear or dryers catching fire, not gas pricing. Maytag will help you with this, ADC will not, as they make the dryers and have no admittance of a safety issue..
