Does anyone have any information about the new Maytag MAH22? My distributor is offering it for $1300, which doesn't seem to make sense for a commercial quality machine -- especially considering the fact that he is selling the 18lb machine for $3,000.
Any ideas?

I've seen the machine, but not in operation. It appears to be a Whirlpool residential machine with a coinbox added on. I'm hesitant to be an early-adopter, though the specs are impressive.

MAH21 was the Neptune. I don't see the MAH22 on the commercial Maytag website. The MAT14 is the WP toploader under the hood (the real Maytag toploaders are/were MAT12). There is no domestic WP frontloader (Duet, Duet Sport) that is offered as a commercial machine. They know better...

The MAH22 is the replacement to the MAH21 (Neptune). I don't believe it's on the Maytag website yet.
If you want an idea of what it looks like, picture the Wascomat WE16 and you have a pretty good idea. It's mostly a Whirlpool domestic machine with a coin box tower slapped on the top, like in an afterthought.
I personally cannot imagine why any laundromat owner would put one of these in their laundry.

At least they have glass in the door now? If the soap filler is still on top I may buy some of them!

The model I saw had a card system built into it -- not the awkwardly placed coin box tower on top.
The specs are impressive, it's cheap ... and it looks good. I just worry about buying a resi machine for my store.

Really can't tell by the pics what the machine really is. I'm really dubious on this...

These are based on the WP Duet Sport washer. Made in Mexico. Beefed up suspension. Spoke with a distributor at the Chicago CLA conference. He was impressed with the machine, and has been installing them in college dorms. Won't know until later this year how the machines hold up, until school is back in session for a while.

I decided to take a pass on them for now. As much as I would love to save 17K on my new machines, I can't stomach being a guinea pig on my first mat - bumper to bumper warranty or not.

Wascomat 620's. Tried and true, and cheaper than the Maytag MFR18's.

If only machine designers were forced to spend a week in a laundry ... What a wonderful world that would be !
Maybe we could start a 'internship program' for them ......;)

The window/door size is the most impressive thing about it, so far. 14" for anyone counting. To compare, the Continental EH (ex-aurora) is 12.7" and the Speed Queen Horizon is about 13".
One drawback noted so far: Pump only :(
Pumpdrains & inverter drives are a joyful combination - if your idea of a good time is working on them.
I wonder if this could turn into this generations WE-16 ? (the cool & cheap machine that never was)
But here's a positive: the Card system version is fully integrated into it, and looks great. The price is extremely attractive too - but i've learned that initial cost loses its allure after the 8,000th call from a disgruntled customer.
September is show season around the country - great time to ask other owners who've purchased them how they're doing.

Any new info on the MAH22 reliability?

oh and I'm new on the forum. I had 2 top load Maytags left to get rid of and the neptunes were no longer available so I picked 2 up. They look good, even with the coin box growth and so far customers love them (had them for about a month now). No issues with them to date, never had any issues with my neptunes either.
If I can get 10 years from them I'll be happy.
