I will be switching over from propane to natural gas soon ???? any way is there a gauge that i can have them put in line to determine how much gas is going to the water heater vs the dryers. and whay is it called.

1. You can put a timer on the gas valve that records when the gas valve is open. Read the timer and compute the gas use based on BTU per hour.

Make sure you match your electric (AC or DC) and volts. Mine was 24 v AC

You'd have to get the right inlet and BTU size for your application.
