Payment for residential pick-up/drop-off

I'm new here and think this is a great site. I would like to purchase a laundromat in the next year or two. Right now, I just trying to get ideas about different things.

I've seen several laundromats that have pick-up and drop-off. How do you handle payment from customers that aren't home for either? Do you run specific routes on specific days?

We don't do pick up and delivery but our dry cleaner does. They bill weekly on a credit card. The delivery man (Rodney) either hangs clothes on the door or he actually has a key to the people's house. (you gotta know Rodney. I would trust him in my house.
