Yea, but Zud or Bar Keepers Friend works better.

Sheila Shine is the best oil that you can use as far as appearance. I use WD-40 instead of Sheila as it is considerably cheaper...and my customers like the smell.
I also use wd-40.
Only once a day at closing do we spray a clean cloth with wd-40 and wipe the machines down. Then a dry cloth is used to clean up the excess and prevent excessive lint buildup in the surface.

I also use wd-40, I used to use shiela shine, but 1. its a bit expensive, and 2. It has a very strong odor. At the end of the night I wipe the machines down with water, dry them off, and spray a little wd-40 and it works great.
just so that I'm clear. when you guys say wd-40 - you do mean wd-40 that's used to lube chains, etc.. If so, don't customers complain about the smell??

It smells like rose pedals compared to Sheila Shine.

My dad turned me on to gel gloss. I used it on the TOPS of my stainless steel machines to shine and protect them. It works very well so far. All I have to do is wipe the excess soap or fabric softener off and dry with another rag. For the fronts I use WD-40. For my Older machines I clean with a fine steel wool pad and a little micro wax, then gel gloss and it almost made the tops look like new. Alot easier to clean too!
Hope this helps.

Gel gloss is an excellent product. I have used it many times on natural stone applications, but never on stainless. I assume it reacts similar to a rubbing compound.

Back in the days I was a janitor and we wiped stainless steel elevators with Lemon Oil, it smells good but may finger print up quick.

HL is in a market where they toss the TP in the basket instead of flushing.. enough said. (he probably does not know all this, as he has attendents) I do not, and have a few of the same market.

Actually they have progressed to carving their names on the face of the stainless fronts. Seems that WD-40 got them all excited.
