Free soap

Business is picking up but it feels like we are missing something, and I am not sure what it is. We have a competitor down the block, who had to close half his business because the previous owner took it, but we are the new owners. We have a good attendant now and business is coming back. We are considering giving away free soap for washers, rather then using use four top loaders and get one free- that sounds like a bad idea (cost of water/gallon for a top loader). I hope this will help any other ideas?

You do not need to give away free soap, that is not what brings customers in.

I do not understand the rest of your post. You took over the other 1/2 of your compertitors' store? If you are $400 a week short get rid of the attendant.
