What is the best way to advertise your Wash-Dry-Fold? We have large sign on our glass and have tried flyers, but was wondering if their are other cost effective ways to bring customers in that have been succesfull. I have thought of taking out ads in the paer and advertising in church bulletins. Please help as I want to explode our wash-dry-fold business.

Thank You

Jacob

Maybe free soap will bring in more customers... I don't know. I used free soap to help move customers from top loaders to front loaders. We gave free soap only for the 18 lb front loaders. There was a 50 cent difference in vend price between the tops and small front loaders, so instead of buying soap for 75 cents for the top loader, the customer could use a front loader, get free soap and save 25 cents. After about a year, I stopped giving free soap. Most of the new front load users kept using the front loaders.

When I bought my mat only 3 1/2 years ago, I tried to "save" money by not advertising. Since I took the very small step of putting up flyers I made myself in locations where I know my target audience frequent... HUGE increase. Also, I have developped a "fan" base... people I have who spread the word and refer others to make use of my WDF service. LOTS of people didn't even know we had it!!! And here I was for 3 years thinking I was saving money!!! What a chump!

I only give away free soap to change people over to liquid in my front loaders... I got a box of HE pouches for free and give them to people to try... Otherwise, I would never give anything away on a long-term basis.

Anyway, you can advertise all you want, but like any business, referrals are you best cost-effective method to bring people in... after that, you need to give them a reason to keep coming with a good clean mat!

Why are you giving away soap? I charge 75 for it.
Free soap, if used, should be a limited time offer and advertised heavily to bring in customers to show them your "new" store. Personally I do not do this as a good location kept clean and machines working will bring in its' own traffic.
People have their own favorite soaps so giving away some cheap soap is not really enticing them.
