Ouch,
someone came in last night and left a tar substance from his work clothes in one of the dryers. Unfortunately, a very nice lady's favorite white sweatshirt was ruined along with a few other clothing items. If it were a pen, I would have said, no. I ahve her address and told her I would get back to her in a few days.

Do I pay the asking reimbursement of 50% for the clothing under the condition she doesn't tell anyone? I do not want to start a run on clothing reimbursement.

I know who the guy was and what his service truck looked like and will watch out for him next week.

Post several signs around the mat. Do not dye clothes in machines, Do not put clothes in with tar, asphalt or other potentially flammable stuff on them. One more sign, should say, We are not responsible to damage to clothing. That will eliminate the refund issue.

It's up to the self serve customers to check the machines before they use them.
