View Full Version : Valuing Dry Cleaners??

A question: We're looking at a laundromat which also contains a moderate sized dry cleaning plant. We're thinking of maybe buying the businesses and splitting the two off - possibly have someone buy (or manage the dry cleaning part). Does anybody have any experience on how to value a dry cleaning set-up - in terms of net-cash flow multiples?

Any other high-level input on DC operations evaluation would be appreciated as well...
For example, is it better or worse if the DC plant processes mainly wholesale orders from other DC operations, or it it better if it's mainly retail-oriented?..

Thanks in advance,
Walter

If this is an operating DC plant, stay away!

PeteF,

No, we were looking just at the businesses. We've been getting feedback on the potential EPA related legal headaches with Perc machines, so we may just decide to dodge this bullet and pass... BTW, we've heard that in some jursidictions, even if you didn't own the property, but were in the chain of business ownership (even 2 or 3 owners down the line) you could still get sued for hazmat related ground water pollution, etc. Who needs that kind of potential headache?

Thanks,
Walter

and they still advertise 99 cent pieces!

All the owners of my building, which used to have dry clean are dead, so noone to sue. Hate to stop payments on the widow..I am can be bstard but not that mean.
