View Full Version : Need to buy New Toploaders
We are looking to replace about 5 toploaders in our 6 year old laundromat. My husband, the owner/repairman/handyman has looked at 5 GE commercial toploaders for around $700 from a local appliance distributor. Looking for suggestions and direction from anyone else on this matter.

I have Maytag, GE, and Whirlpool/Kenmore.
The Whirlpool and Kenmore are the newest, and the most trouble. Constantly replacing lid switches and drive "dogs". Agitators have a habit of coming out of the machine!
The Maytag seem to be mainly trouble free. I find myself replacing lid switches occasionally and clearing coin jams a good bit. It looks like one needs a transmission, it is 5 years old.
The GE were purchased "new" from a pawn shop, but were about 6 years old. They have been in service for about 5 years and have been completely trouble free.
I hear that Speed Queen is a decent choice as well.
Good luck!

I replaced mine with Maytag. They were about $800-$850. So far so good. I have had half of them for a year and the other half are about 4 months old. They all came with a 5 year warranty in the parts.
