Hi. While looking into building a new laundry, how much time would you estimate on average is required for maintaince of machines? I don't know if I should plan on 1 hour per day, week, or month to keep machines going.

Thanks;
Jack

Jack,

You maintenance on a new laundry should be minimal for the first 2-3 years. Then it all depends on size. Problem is the averaging. I could say three hours a month, however it may look like 20 hours week one and then nothing for 2 weeks....

The time you spend building will be huge. Running the mat depends on many factors, attended or unattened to start. 8 hours a week unattended would be a good average. You are not going to drop 500k and never go to the store are you?

I like the Dexter Dryers. I had them in 3 stores. I would buy them. I have SQ and Maytag ( ADC) in 2 now, I like the Dexter better.

I have newer Dexter washers in two stores I bought about a year ago. They have been great! I have always bought Wascomat, but I would consider Dexter in the future.

The Dexter dryers I have are so old they belong in a museum! So I cannot comment on them.

I have 23 Wascomat Gen4's and 28 Huebush Twinstar dryers.

I spend on average 5 hours per week on maintaining the equipment.

If it's not broke, don't fix it.

I am thinking about going into laundromat business but also considering car washes. Which one do you prefer? What are the pluses minuses of each?

Thank you
