I was thinking about getting givaways for the holidays & winter not that I have my new logo. Has anyone done this, the giveaways?
My main thought was to get 1,000 - 2,000 coffee cups w/ my store logo & info. I was going to give out 100 - 200 cups to the neighboring delis, diners, pizza shops, etc. for their use
In addition, I wanted to get "thank you" gifts for the holidays. I just don't know what is a good idea/product vs. a juck item that gets thrown out.
Any ideas?

How about little mending kits (buttons, needles and thread) with your company name on them?

Calendars are a good one. Hopefully you are in their view for the next 12 months.

lint rollers in holiday wrappers
I got some from Cleaner's Supply
I didn't check into customizing them with my name so I don't know if that is an option. It would probaby be on the wrapper which gets peeled off the first time it gets used anyway.

I give every 11th wash free. Occationally we put vend size soap boxes out on each machine for free. People love free stuff. Even if it is small. Save your money nobody goes to a laundromat because they saw it on a pen.
I"m trying something new: I dropped my 18lb washers to $.75 from $2.00 with signs all over the store as well as outside - I'm hoping to keep this going until the end of the year. Just today, few habitual customers went to use the top loading washers for $1.50, so I simply told them to use the 18lbrs for .75. I saw bunch of my customers telling other customers to use the 18lbrs...
Another motive - besides "giving back" - I'm hoping to get my top loading customers to get used to using the 18lb.
Finally - to give more incentive, I'm changing the top prices from $1.50 to $2.00.
Since this is my first time trying, I'm not sure of the results yet. I'm hoping to accomplish several things:
1) Create a marketing hype for .75 wash
2) Lure customers to get used to using 18lb washers
3) save water by getting less turns on tops
4) Simply say "Thank you" to customers

I had t-shirts printed with our logo and gave them to my good customers. Best part is the shirts also give back to me when they come to wash them!

On busy days sometimes we call and order a few pizzas for the customers that are useing the store. Not that often but they really like anything free. Or on a busy day just put a bucket of soap from Costco on the counter for the customers. It cost very little but brings lots of goodwill. Plus its money spent that you know the customes are useing not wasted.

I did donuts this weekend.
It is amazing to see people shocked!! Some asked me how much?
I told them free and they were like deer in headlights.
I will keep doing it on weekends till the end of the year.
Lets hope the word gets out!!
Free Coffee is a big hit at my store - all year long - and I advertise it on my Marquis sign. Get a commercial brewer and buy all supplies at SAM's.

I stopped the free coffee when I bought the place. It attracted too many people from the group home up the street and they don't even wash here.
