Last night I rebuilt a Wascomat Drain valve on a W74.
The new motor had a power connection, but the power coming from the machine side didn't. So I stripped the wires and connected them.
The machine started fine and was running along till I saw smoke coming from the drain valve motor. I watched as the smke got more and more, then it went up in flames.
The coil burnt up and was in flames. I put the flames out and pulled the drain valve out again.
My question is, do the drain valve wires need to be connected to each other in a certain way. I know they are pupose to have a connector, but this machine didn't have one.
Thanks
Vic
