I am really stuck on this IPSO WE165 machine behaving erratically. First, it was stalled cycle and it still may be the problem, however, after changing the main timer, I don’t see any water coming thru the soap box, which may be stalling the cycle. I have played with the Water Pressure Level switch, the elbow and the hose leading up to the switch but I don’t think that’s the issue. I have also changed selector switch. Since selecting different cycles does not make a difference in the problem, I don’t think it’s the water valves unless both water valves has gone bad at once.
Does anyone have Main Timer wiring instructions as to what color wire goes where and what connections are jumped, what terminals are not used etc. ?
Is there a difference between timers with Yellow/White versus Brown cams?
When the troubleshooting guide says the connection between certain terminals may be open/close, what does it mean? How do you test that? What would the volt meter indicate?
Any guidance would be helpful. Thanks.

Yes there is a difference, one is for a Primus and one is for a Ipso and neither will work with each other. Also a new timer is currently not available so I don't know how you got one.

Do you have voltage at the water valve when the timer is calling for water?
IF yes then you need to change the valve, if no it is the timer. Have it rebuilt. This all assumes you have it wired correctly. Another question is the washer drum turning? If no the it is probably a saftey switch, like a door swicth not locked. If yes than back to the timer.

MSKLAUNDRY - I am lost. When I ordered the part, I was told by IPSO (at that time) and DND parts that I need Brown cam and I do have brown cam running another one of my IPSOs.
Peter f - Yes. The drum is turning and water also comes into the tub; just not thru the soap box. This is regardless of the cycle I select.

The brown cam is correct

Wiring an Ipso timer is not an easy task. By your questions it would seem that you are in over your head. I would suggest that you contact a QUALIFIED technician who is familiar with that machine, can read a schematic and can RE-WIRE that timer, assuming it is not damaged.

Okay....I think I found the culprit. I want to share the solution so others can learn. Many times, I see people talking about problems at length but then, you see no solution. So here it is....
It was water inlet valve....looks rusted and not letting the water in. I changed it and things seem to be working fine. Though I have not tested all the cycles so let's see how it goes.
I would have checked the water inlet valve way before everything else I have tried (see the entire post) but I am always scared to touch the valves as they start leaking and then, you have plumbing problems on hand.
Thanks to all who responded.
