Our store prices separately for comforters, duvet covers, and blankets. However, when a regular WDF customer comes in they are often surprised or irritated when they see this charge. I have a brochure with all my prices, and the prices are also listed on the counter customers use when they come in, but nobody looks at it. Sometimes the bedding is stuffed in with the WDF order, and we don't see it to remind them of the price until they are gone. I was thinking about giving some kind of discount for regular customers who come in with bedding, perhaps 20% off on the bedding with a 20 pound WDF order.

Forget the discount! Comforters take up a washer all by themselves, and always require more drying time. We charge $19 for a king comforter with no complaints. A dry cleaner would be at least 25+. Get prices from a dry cleaner and show your customers how much they are saving vs using a dry cleaner.

In addition to having a price schedule for comforters and bedspreads, I added the following to the posted price list: Down or overstuffed comforters - add $5. Originally I added only the down part, but a customer had a very thick overstuffed comforter that she insisted was not down, and refused to pay the extra $5. For down comforters we warn customers that dry cleaning is recommended, but will wash and dry the comforter at their risk.

Large bedding items are charged by the piece separate from the poundage of the drop-off order. $9.00/piece and .90/lb.
