For those who followed along, I thought it was time for an update report.
The phone: I had it hooked up around the Christmas time, and as I pointed out, the previous phone had been out of order for at least 3 months. Last time I checked, the phone had $58 in it, coin. I assume my dial around will ad a few bucks once that is set up. With a line charge of around $35, owning your own phone seems feasable. The regualr (phone) customers are starting to show up..
The $465,000 new mat in the leased shopping center across the street. Well, his revenue has continued to grow, He is around $200 a day now. My mat, which I had remodeled, is doing a little more than it had the previous year thru Dec, into Jan now. I feel he took the fluff from my remodel, about $30 a day, away from me. I am about 10% better than last year, but my equipment note sucks all that and more, so cash flow wise about the same.
I made the last payment to the former owner this month, so the mat has paid for itself in 5 years, really, I do not have much of my own money in it, sio is hard to complain.
I do feel sorry for anyone who has sunk 465k into a mat and only does $200 a day. His new store he just built, store #2, and this one he bought the building, all tolls about $700k, has been open for a couple weeks. This one is a distance from me, but still near other well established mats. On a recent drive by last Saturday the older mats seemed busy, the new guy had 2 cars, a caddy SUV and a Lexus in the driveway, I am assuming he and his wife?
The BUCS won the divison champs and are on the way to the SUPER BOWL! Hell will now freeze over.. Good luck BUCS!
