I've been working on this machine for a while. What happens is, when the machine is started, the timer runs through its entire cycle in a matter of minutes without filling, washing or spinning properly. This all started when i came in one day to start the repair and noticed that the main fuses were blown. After replacing the fuses and trying to see what happened, they kept repeatidly blowing. That problem was narrowed down to a bad winding in the motor. This short in the motor had burned the wash contacter and fused the timer contacts for reversing. I replaced the motor, timer and contacter. After replacing these parts, the timer has been rapid advancing through everything. Through a few recomendations and thoughts of my own i have replaced the entire locking mechanisim, the time delay relay, the cycle selector buttons and the water lever switch, not to mention checking and rechecking my placement of the wires on the timer.

Im on the verge of replacing this entire machine but would rather not as this seems to be the only problem.

Also this is a 220 single phase machine.

Any suggestion on this problem would be helpful and appreciated.

Hi,

Is this a coin operated washer? if so, have you checked this start mechanisim?
this might be the problem.

This is a coin op machine and has a Keltner coin drop on it. for ease of starting i plugged in the greenwald, the original that was coinslide activated. It worked before but i hadn't considered the starting mech again after this problem started. Ill check it out tonight thnx.
