I'm trying to resurrect an old Wascomat W123 in my recently acquired Laundromat. The motor and bearings seem to be in great shape so I'd really like to get it up and running. The relays are good and the motor spins on both high and low speeds. I put in a new mechanical coin mechanism, new delay capacitor, converted it to a rotary cycle selection and cleaned up the whole machine.
I also took all the wires off the timer and reconnected everything myself to make sure it was put together correctly. It appears as if the last person to work on it had no idea what they were doing.
Anyway, I turned on the power to the machine and the dial moved rapidly, turned on the water valves for a few seconds and now has the machine stuck on "extract" with the motor spinning on high speed. I have no idea where the machine is in its cycle because the timer did not have a dial on it so I don’t know its proper orientation. This is as far as I have gotten. The timer will not advance any further. I plan to test the two timer motors today to make sure they're both working.
My question is whether or not the Wascomat timers can get out of sync and cause the timer to get stuck. The timer looks almost brand new and there is no way it is original. Are there any leads that I can jump or any other way to "reset" the timer so that it is at the beginning of the cycle and properly synced?
I also figured that I should check the level control, although I am not sure if that could have anything to do with my problem.
Thank you for any insight!!!
