AD530 Stack. Top basket runs fine. The lower unit, on high, will get 220 degrees. Medium and lower settings operate normal.

I changed the whole bracket, thermostat and overheat, with top basket. No change. (No lint in the drawer.)

Replaced computer with a different machine. No change.

Swapped coin drop. (OK. I know I'm getting desperate.) No change.

I didn't think to check the vent out, but wouldn't the other temps be off, too?

Suggestions?

I'll pass this on to ADC

I'm guessing it's make up air...

Let's see what they say.

Is there a lint build up in the Vent????

Defective thermostat or clogged internal vent

Lower dryer ???

Probably has a damper in the lower portion of the vent pipe clogged with lint.

David, The problem is most likely the damper in the exhaust is sticking and not letting the hot air out of the machine which causes the dryer to keep climbing in Temp. The damper is a 6" piece of metal in the exhaust where you put your duct work on the dryer. Take off the duct work to the dryer and look down in the blower housing you'll see this damper. Another thing could be a clogg situation in the exhaust anywhere from where it attaches to the dryer to where it exits the building which will have the same effect as the damper sticking. It's more than likely a air flow problem.Let me know how you make out!
