I have a Maytag MFR35PD which stops at the start of the cycle and flashes the message 'reselect cycle'. When I check for errors it show d10. My distributor doesn't seem to want to part with any service or part manuals. According to my Neptune service manual, a d10 error has to do with the door lock, so I assume that it is giving me a similar message for the 35#er.
Does anybody have info on what I should check and in what order?
Thanks,
George

D10 is a door switch error. The order is checking the door switch, there are 2, one to say door is closed, the other to lock it via the coil. Ther are reading you can take at the CB, but I suggest looking at the lock mech. I once found an earing keeping the door from locking.
Another time the L shape lock mech was bent, one time the door was out of adjustment, maybe somebody geared it, and I had to adjust so the lock would not rub. Once it was the CB itself.
Take the door off, front panel, then the 3 screws cover the L arm, then the four screw cover the assembly, check for problems and continutity. You can latch the door in place without hooking up the swing side and run the washer if you hold the door to test the locking mechs.
Have your service key handy to cut off the machine. If you have full working mech and full continuity of the switches then check at the CB for coninutiy there, it good, then board is bad.

The problem turned out to be a simple fix, panic had set in too soon.
I was expecting the error code to describe some kind of electrical problem.
The 2 nuts on the inside of the door that hold the door latch (handle) to the door had worked loose so the handle was loose & floppy. Tightened the loose nuts and all is well.
Maybe I'm the loose nut behind the wheel......................
