My 270 gallon water storage tank sprung a leak and I am looking for a replacement. I have 24 Maytag top loaders and 2 -35 lb fronts. I am getting conflicting info on if I should put in a single 270 gallon tank or 2- 115 gallon tanks. Some guys are telling me 2 tanks are sloppy and the next buyer would not want them and other people are telling me the benefit of two tanks is if one goes down I can still run with the other tank. I have a single Adantage 96 heater with 199,900 BTU's. Are there adavantages/disadavantages to a single tank or two small tanks???

How long did your old tank last? How old is your boiler?

One regular hot water heator or get 3 instant ones. If you had more fronts 2 would be enough. I had to get a 199,000 BTU heator for our condo association recently, was $6300 installed. Tankless are about $1200 each at my last mat. If your hot water heator is working fine, just cut the storage tank out and toss it. You should have quick recovery heator so you do not need a stoarge tank. That was the old way of setting up a mat.

How much will that Hamilton cost you? How long will the payback be to make it worth it?

His boiler is only 5 years old and is 96% eff., why change the boiler? I would just get the tank for $2000 and call it a day.

So it is possible to eliminate the tank? Assuming you have a good heater.

Well that is what I want to do.Don't need 400 gal water.X-owner put the 400 gal tank in but it is not needed.
So if someone needs a tank and will pay plumbler to take it out it's theres

What kind of heater did you install? What was the cost. I have two tanks. One is in use and the other one takes up valuable real estate. Would love to eliminate them and clean up that space!! Would make a great WDF or child area.
