Just few days ago I got new Wasco TD 30/30 Dryers. They seem to be working fine however in the morning some of them display E099 error. They reset themselves later on and work fine. I called Wascomat and they said since it's been very cold weather last few days, you will get that error in the morning and they will reset themselves.

Does any one have similar problems?. I don't think it is right that you could have dryers down in the morning for an hour because it's too cold outside.

I would also appreciate any input on default settings on the new dryers. I have left everything default and I am vending them for 8 minutes a quarter. I have mixed reviews from customers. Some say it doesn't dry as well as the old Heubsch while others like the new dryers. Did anyone of you changed the default setting on temperature, cool down time etc?

Thanks,

I change only two settings on mine. I vend 7 minutes, and I change the end of cycle chime from 10 seconds to 5 seconds, because I can't stand them that long.

Charlie

No problems yet with 099 errors, and it was 5 degrees out this morning.

I haven't had that error yet, but I close my vent opening at night.

I changed to 5 minutes for a quarter (Canadian) (about 16 cents U.S.)

I lowered my "hot" setting to about 151 degrees from 160. (you still can't keep your hand on yhe door !)

I will try and figure out how to shorten the alert setting like Charlie did.

mine don't feel that hot on the glass for first 3-4 cycles. Eventually they feel little hot but not as much as 12 years old Heubsch.

I have set for 8 minutes with 1 minute cool down period.

May be I should check my temperature settings to make sure they are not set too low.

So far they seem OK not as good as I was hoping. I was expecting thm to get really hot and customers would love them. So far customers are not really impressed with the dryers. They think they are OK and some actually think old Heubschs run hotter than new Wascos. I will see how customers feel in the long run.

My customers love them and think they are the best in town. The glass gets very hot. I use the factory settings of 160 -140 -120 with a 1 minute cooldown. Of course, adequate makeup air is critical.

The setting to reduce the chime time is either level 5, parameter 8 or level 8 parameter 5. Check your programming manual. I think it is level 5, par 8.

Of course, the hardest part is actually getting to the "B" level of parameter programming. You must first go to 2-01, change the value to 1, enter it, then you can back out and change to parameter levels above 2. This has to be done everytime you go into the upper parameter levels.

I have more than sufficient makeup air. Behind the Dryers I have small windows every few feet and also I have huge makeup air chutes through the ceiling. Behind the dryers it is freezing because of all the little windows.
