Has anyone switched to the on demand hot water heater recently and if so have they noticed a reduction in their utilities?

I replaced my OA Smith boiler with a new AO Smith boiler. The reason was simple for me after pricing an on demand system. Installed it was going to cost around $35,000. and they were still recomending that I keep my storage tank. It cost only $9500.00 total to replace my boiler and it is 85% efficient. It has lowered the gas consumption about 25% over the old one, so that is good. I know because I track the gas used vs. the dollars taken in every week and have done this for 2 years. The old one was installed in 1977 so it owed me nothing and with that kind of service life vs the additional cost plus the tinkering that some have to do with their on-demand systems I just felt for my operation it made more sense to stick with the boiler. Inaddition the plumbing company that installed it has installed so many in our area that I felt more comfortable about service for the boiler should something go wrong.
Just my 2 cents.
