I didn't do the poll as there is more than 1 store. Is there a way for the multimat posters to be able to use the polls per mat versus per poster?

Why does everyone always want to know my size?

Is size really that important?

Size is VERY important, but ONLY to the OWNER :D

Well? I beg to differ........

The larger the store the more customers you can accomodate and of course, keep satisfied! :)

High customer satisfaction can quickly drive a business to chapter-11. You have to make trade-offs between customer satisfaction and profits. I much rather have a store of size X that ran at 50% capacity than one at 2X that ran at 25%. The bigger store has greater overhead, so unless the market can support it you are better off with the small store that will be more profitable. It just goes to show there is no one right answer - you have to know your market.

Oops sorry , I got off the original subject.........

Your right, regarding the mat, size is not as important as how the size accomodates the market you are in.

Curretnly store #2 has always been in a crudy location. It currently has a lease debt on 10 35's and 4' 50's. In less than 18 months this debt will be paid. The weekday attendant has been on mediacla leave since Dec 1. She had the same surgery as me, and she decided to stay out the 8 weeks she is entilted to. Going against everything Dave believes in, he chose not to replace her until she returns. The counts have declined further, at lease 300 bucks a week. That store lost money last year, not alot, but lost. The usuage in this particular store is low.

The attendant will be back, if there is a position by mid February. I wonder, if there was a 300 dollar decline in revenue when she left, how do we know that we can gain back that revenue and afford to pay her her current salary based on this stores sales alone?

I was at the Wascomat service school in New York City last month,

and the two guys sitting in front of me,

owned a 9,000. square foot mat in New Jersey !!!

(and they said they were the SECOND largest mat in their town !!!!!!!)

I THINK it might have been Camden, but I may be mistaken.

I've heard that New Jersey has some very large format laundromats.

Where in Ontario are your Laundromats located?

The post in CoinWash on the size of your laundromat seems to be old. They say the trend is for larger size laundromats. Can we do a new poll to see how this poll compares to the last one? I would like to build a 3,000 to 3,600 sf laundromat and have friends telling me that it they had to build the next laundromat again would build as large as possible (given the demographics of course).

Ok Build a poll you don't have to ask ;)

Jonathan,

Ha, I don't know how to build one. This is what I would poll:

Size of laundromat you built within the last 3 years:

< 1,500 sf
1,501 to 2,000 sf
2,001 to 2,400 sf
2,400 to 3,000 sf
3,001 to 3,600 sf
> 3600 sf

What size would your next laundormat be?:

< 1,500 sf
1,501 to 2,000 sf
2,001 to 2,400 sf
2,400 to 3,000 sf
3,001 to 3,600 sf
> 3600 sf

How do I create a new poll?

When you post a new thread, you may also have the option to create a poll.

This allows you to ask a question and specify a number of possible responses. Other members will then be able to vote for the response they wish, and the results of the voting will be displayed in the thread.

An example poll might be:

What is your favorite color?

Red
Blue
Yellow
Green
Sky-blue
Pink with yellow spots

To create a poll when you post a new thread, simply click the 'Yes, post a poll with this thread' checkbox at the bottom of the page, and set the number of possible responses you want to include.

When you click the submit button, you will be taken to the poll creation page, where you can specify the question and the list of responses you want to include.

You may also want to specify a time limit for the poll, so that (for example) it stays open for voting for only a week.

Give it a try
