I want to start shopping for a new insurance carrier. I had saved info on my PC but recently suffered a disk crash, so all is lost.

Please - list your carriers and a phone number and what you think of them. Thanks.

I use Zurich. http://www.zurichna.com (bought Kemper out, I've been told.)

Went through local Independant insurance agency.

I've had one claim. No problems or hassles so far.

Since this is my first year, I don't have any other company to compare it to.

I too went thru a local broker. In fact, switched from one local to another. I currently have Mutual of Enumclaw which insures my two laundries and the property that houses them and a couple other tenants. I saved about $900 over my other insurer (Safeco I think) Haven't had any claims since changing several years ago but I pay about 1700 for two properties and 3 businesses. CLA insurance was higher for me, although I know others nearby who saved using CLA. You've just got to get lots of quotes.

what's the liability amount on insurance cost, since that will make a lot of difference in the amount you pay?

I use Integrity Mutual from Wisconsin. Got them from my agent. I have great coverage and have had three claims. I have a burglary and they never raised my rates. I checked with the St. Paul through CLA and they quotes me double the fee, half the coverage and double the deductible. Don't have the number handy but will get it if you want it.

I have the following contact information for Integrity Mutual Insurance:

Integrity Mutual
2121 East Capitol Drive
P.O. Box 539
Appleton, WI 54912-0539
(920) 734-4511 Fax (920) 730-5712

I have two stores with identical coverages at each. Basically it is $1,000,000 of coverage for each occurance, personal and advertising injury is $500,000, $200,000 coverage for business and personal property, $50,000 for building damage (since I lease I have this to cover interior walls and such) and coverage for about 200' of plate glass. They include at no charge coverage for loss of money on premises of $10,000 and $5,000 off premises. They also include at no charge loss of business income coverage for up to 12 consecutive months. My deductible for each is $250.00. In 2002, I paid $1400.00 for one stores policy and $2335.00 for the other. I was told the difference was due to the ratings of the two cities. If one town is considered to have a higher crime rate lets say, they the premium may be higher.

I received a quote from the St. Paul Company through CLA and the premium was a lot higher, less coverage and the deductible jumped to $500.00.

Hope this helps.

P.S. Integrity has a toll free number I just can't find it. Sorry.

As an addendum to my last post, Perhaps it would be helpful to us all if some others would share who they get coverage from, amounts of coverage and premiums. Then we could all compare?
