View Full Version : looking to redecorate
I"m looking to redecorate the inside of my store. I was wondering if anyone had done that or have pics that you thought made you feel welcome or seen a new store or have a store that is welcoming in everyway. I"m not much of a decorator but I'm hoping I can get help from you professionals.

Not too sure if I am a "professional" especially with regards to decorating.
I guess it depends on the existing customers you want to keep, the former customers you want back, and the potential customers you want to get.
Clean and Bright and Safe are probably most important. Equipment in good repair too. Beyond these things, start looking at the customers. College students (ever see their dorm rooms?) might like wireless internet more than the latest Ralph Lauren and Martha Stewart color scheme. "Real Housewives of Orange County" might be more interested in potted plants and the color scheme than the wireless. Immigrants with large families want large machines and an open floor plan where they can see all their kids running loose while they get in and get out.
Who are the customers you want to keep, get back, or add?
Laundry is a "chore". You might do well to make it an "event" too, (or not) but it is still a chore.
I believe that very few people choose one laundromat over another for the designer colors, background music, etc. the way they might choose one restaurant over another when both have nutritious food. Heck, Restuarant patrons usually don't consider nutrition that much either.
Mine is a long way from the next nearest, so I could be wrong.
