Has anyone read "Coin Laundries - Road to Financial Independence" by Emerson G. Higdon? It is advertised in the Coin Laundry News magazine. Just want to know if it is worth the cost. Thanks.

Not really if you get to reading and asking questions here I think you'll learn much more.

But you really never have enough knowledge until you get into the business.

I can't tell you that you won't learn anything by reading a book but here it's aways Q's and A's

Sometime you won't like what you hear and others time you will thank this site

I have never read it. I will say the title sounds very misleading.

This book was my first step into the laundry business. It is very informative. It covers just about everything. It is certainly worth the price. That said, if I were you, I would also spend the $55 for a premium membership to this site. Here, you can ask the questions that come up in the book. Do both.

I was going to buy it at an equipment show last year and the CLA represenitive told me it was for beginers and I was already past it in my project. I was thankful for his honesty in not selling me something I didn't need.

I bought and read the book before purchasing our first mat. It's well worth the time and the money (what is it 15 bucks?). The most important thing for me was the utility formulas. They proved to be right on the mark. It also goes into alot of detail about leases and how to build a mat from scratch. If you already have owned a mat for a while, it may not have much info for you. If you lease, it may be a good reference book when your lease expires, or you purchase additional mats w/o the real estate.

I just gave $300.00 to Coinwash to go to the show and don't see you as a premium member or any contributions.
I see the value of this site and want to meet all of you at the show.

This site has more information than any book or video out there.

Thank you Coinwash

I was praising you and the other Premium members. Bob I talking about the others--- ie goingtoarizona saying what's 15 bucks.
I enjoy this board very much.

Has anyone ever purchased this book and was it useful?

This question was asked recently, how far back did you read?

Pete, Last post I found was in 2004 concerning Today's Coin Laundry. Maybe I'm overlooking another one.

Well what did that post say?
I was wrong, You are right, the start of this thread was asking about another laundromat book different than the title you ask about. I assumed they were both the same.

The last poster only stated they had no knowledge of this book (which ought to tell me something). Had my original question posted in another thread and was moved to this one by the admin.
