I think you can use those information in adjusting machine prices...
for example: Neptunes and 80lb are busy machines compared to other size machines, so you may consider to increase one quarter price up for those machines....same as 35lb dryers....

just my 2 cents

You really can not do much with the info, except know which machine produce the best return per Sq Ft they take up. I guess in some case if you had really poor producing machines you can get rid of them and replace with the higher producing ones, however most lats are lay out in such a way it is not always possible.
I thought you had coin store, where do the stats come from?
Your dryer prices look good.

I do.

I empty the machines by type and weigh the coins. I enter the info on a spreadsheet that calculates TPD. I will be more than happy to send you a copy of the spreadsheet. Send me a private message with e-mail address.

Wish there were more owners who took the time to know what is turning. I always tell owners looking at a remodel take the time as you are planning to know what is turning. You would be amazed the number of owners who think their top loaders can not be replaced who find they are turning 1/4 to 1/2 the rest of the store.

I actually go one step further and check daily. I can tell you my numbers by day of the week. (not crazy enough to go hourly) I see guys all the time who do free dry or discount top loaders on a day they are already busy. One example is Tuesday is generally a slow day for most mats. I have a guy who went to $1. Wash It was a Huge success. His numbers went though the roof. He was at 7-8 turns a day. Course all the mats in town were busy as the meat processing plant was closed on Tuesday and all the workers had tuesday Wednesday off.... He just knew that weekdays were slow. He emptyed Monday, Thursday and the weekend and assumed everything came in even over Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Rather than 10% monday 40% tuesday 40% wednesday and 10% thursday.

Maybe his $1 wash was not a huge success after all.

To often in Business people see the result they expect with out looking at the true numbers....

After many years I can tell fairly close what the revenue will be for the time period when I empty the first washer. as in all stores, mine have one or two underutilized machines, they are on the list for the next remodel

I have very detailed information from my card system and have noticed many interesting patterns. Machines closest to the card value station have the highest use while those furthest away have the lowest use - just goes to show human nature is to be lazy.

The other thing is that my bottom dryer pockets get much more use than my top pockets - this is contrary to most stores, but I have many central american customers and they tend to be shorter than average and find the lower pockets easier to use.

In my store the machines closest to the doors are the most used. People come in and drop their baskets at the closest machine to the door.

I noticed the top pocket always had much more revenue than the bottom dryers because people did not want to bend down for their clothes. Because my Huebsch dryers had 2 computers, I was able to program the bottom pocket to give an extra minute per quarter. This encouraged people to use the bottom pockets and my usage evened out. As an added benefit, when I increased my vend price by lowering the minutes, if a customer complained, I told them to use the bottom dryer which then had the same minutes as the top pocket before I lowered the time. It was a win-win situation for me and the customer.
Good luck!

Why is it that the right side of my coin machine always does better than the left side?

Because 98% of the population is right handed!

That's not lazy that's efficient! Contrary to popular belief the american worker is the most productive on earth! I am assuming you are in the US.

That's great information, and good numbers. You can use that knowledge to make business decisions. I used to do keep track of all my machines like that. Congrats on the TPD on your Neptunes, as they are the most profitable pieces of equipment in your store.
