What color is the interior of your laundromat?

being a newbie, I assumed they would all be white

but I know a mat owner in Missouri that swears by yellow and says he will paint every mat he ever owns yellow.........

By Federal Law statue 10-345-98761 sub code sg54 "All coin laundries, attended, unattended serving a population of more then 1200 persons, must be painted white." Violation of this law will result in a $5000 fine.

I tried blue once; it looked horrible. I decided to leave it all white, altho' my machines are all the colors of the Wascomat pallett -- Stainless steel, white, almond and Wasco green. I'm thinking about new folding table this year, and they will be of some color TBA.

"Color is a Feng Shui cure because each color of the rainbow is associated with one of the nine life areas. The calm colors of green bring balance and harmony to family life because the vibrations of the color are slow and steady. Colors have the power to uplift or depress the chi in a room. For example, painting a baby's room sunshine yellow is not ideal because this color stimulates the body and the purpose of a baby's room is to calm them for a good night sleep or nap.
Each color is powerful for creating an enviroment that is stimulating or soothing. You want to pick soothing colors for rooms that are meant for sleep or for decompressing after a long day at work. Bedrooms, family rooms and bathrooms are best painted soft shades of blues, greens and soft purples.
Stimulating colors such as reds, oranges, and yellows are best suited for dining rooms, kitchens and playrooms. Colors are used in Feng Shui because they are an inexpensive strategy for quickly changing the chi in a room. Uplift the chi in a dining room by using a red table cloth or by having yellow seat cushions. Each color gives out invisible chi that can be felt but not seen.
If you want more passion in your love life using high powered colors such as red and orange. However, if your goal is a more quiet time with your spouse, use soft blue and green pillow on the couch.
· Red: a strong color that is great to keep you going. A good colour for a dining room to keep guests energized and excited. Not a good colour for the bedroom unless you desire lots of passion.
· Orange: a happy color that is refreshing and revitalizing. Good for kitchens and playrooms. Softer shades for family rooms where you want a place for fun and relaxing.
· Yellow: a happy color that brings creativity and vitality. Associated with tolerance, acceptance, honesty, and trustworthiness. Good for the center of your home.
· Green: a healing and calming color. Great for living rooms and bedrooms. It renews us and keeps us in balance.
· Blue: a healing and mentally relaxing color. Good to bring blue into a room when someone is ill. Also good to keep the occupants calm and relaxed.
· Indigo: a relaxing color. Good for kids and to keep health in the home.
· Purple: a color of richness and transformation. Great for spiritual rooms and to splash around the home for wealth and abundance.

Well, it looks like I need to get the paint rollers out this weekend. I thought my customers were performing for the cameras, I didn't know I was setting the mood for them with my color scheme.

We went to penara bread with color stirps and looked at their market research. It makes a nice looking laundry and actually the earth tones do very well with dirt and grime.

The primary color of my laundry is "Maytag" Blue trimed in a tanish color.

I have found that it is best to paint with a high gloss paint that can be wipe clean.

I understand that blue makes people feel comfortable (maybe a shade found on this webpage). That being said we're going with a medium yellow with yet to be announced trim. I want to run a wood or rubber stripe/moulding around the store at cart height to keep the carts from wearing the walls too much.

If your mat is near mine I would recommend brown or black, and make sure you turn off lots of lights at night, customers love a dark Mat...

I agree with the blue, that is why mine is light powder blue with Navy accents on the trim.

Back when I first got my store, a regular customer who painted murals for a living asked me about the white space above my dryers. I asked her to sketch out her ideas, as I was open to having some "professional art" up there. She never followed thru, and the open white space is still there.

My mat is tan with a pink/maroon color trim. I don't like it!

I'm looking to paint it bright white with a deep blue trim and change my tables to blue as well. The floor I want to be white and blue checker. I think this will be very calming...atleast to me :)

2 of the mats have decor colors matching picked out by my wife, so I am sure they are great. They are different color schemes based on surroundings, IE, folding tables, floor, washer colors, etc. The other two are white which I owned/painted before I married her. Her colors do give a warm touch..my white is clean and boring.

Got tired of white, blue, beige, yellow, and tan. This time went with a really light green, and used the complimentary colors suggested on the card for trims and accents. Looks good. Nice and bright - but different.
