A truly tragic incident.I wonder if this was a owner made table or a professional grade table such as Solomatic. I always buy the Solomatic since they have such strong legs. I guess it would be a good idea to bolt the tables down, I think that is a option from solomatic.
It always amazes me how parents let their children run wild.

tragic. This does show the power of survalance systems though, and the need for at your own risk signs posted. I am glad there was no neglect filed against the owner.

My 10 year old an I had this conversation today as we entered a Car wash that said enter at your own risk. He said what if the machine malfunctions? Is it not the owners responsibility?

The at your own risk sign in this case would not help. Even if we understand that kids should not climb on the table and it is the parents responsibility. A ten year old and an eight year old climbing on a table should not be enough to tip it or cause it to break.

This is a great time to mention Insurance and a LARGE umbrella policy to protect you and yours.
