for the owners who use "Bill to Bill Breaker" machine for customer:

Can you answer the following questions?

1) what denominator the bill to bill changer dispense? $5 or $1 or mixed?

2) what kind of complaints have you had from customers?

3) How do you resolve an issue e.g. if customer insists that machine gives only three fives when he/she put $20?

Thank you,

I have one in a card store, I use $1's. It is a bit of a job to keep it filled, this may change in time.
The newer ones have split denominations, go for that.
Customers complain only when it does not work. mine jams about once a month.
If they are doing laundry I trust them, give them whjat they say they lose. if they are there to get a $20 reduced so they can buy a rock of crack I give them a store card for what they claim they lost. I have 3 cams on it, one high power, I can usually tell what happens.

I vend $5 bills for 10s and 20s. I have averaged about $265 a day for over 4 years, so the need is there. Yes, I track it.

I have the standard change machine. If it fails, a yellow light comes on. If the light is not on, the customer is deferred to me and its always been bogus. Always. If it is on, the attendants are authorized to refund whatever the customer says they lost. I also have my attendants tuned to watch whenever someone uses the machine. The light is a very dependable source of authenticity. I don't fret over whether or not a customer took me for an extra 5 or 10 bucks. The light indicates a machine jam and its very dependable.

I also record exactly how much money I have in the machine at any given time. Helps to know if a customer complains.
