Are you joking?
I have 4 stores,no A/C.Slower in the super hot day.
Some area has law for winter temp and most are for rental home only.I had one emplyee call zoning about my store not warm enough in winter,I set @ 68-70 but customers keep open and close the doors, that store has 4 doors, zoning show up,zoning said that is no law for business, only for rental home.I fired the emplyee so she can stay home enjoy the heat!

Too many people think that they are entitled by law to everything they want. I don't believe you will find a law on the books anywhere that mandates AC. Check with you local Heath Dept and bulding inspector, But think you will find they see the idea as amusing, and the person who insists on this as being just another of the many kooks running around.

I have had people doing laundry in an apartment building call us because our name and number is (was) on the coin acceptor. The machine isn't working so since our name is on the coin mech we MUST be responsible for the fact that machine wasn't working. Makes as much sense as bugging the company the made tires because your car is broken. People can be really really stupid.

In most building codes with new construction there is there is a minimal amount of airflow you are required to have I believe the number is 200 cfm's (cubic feet per minute), but that airflow does not need to be climatized. Example an exhaust fan could provide the sufficient cfm's for a laundry and that laundry would not have to have an air-conditioning system.

This is only for new construction an existing building would not have to meet this requirement.

There is a caveat every local government is different. Your city or state could have a law that states, “Coin laundries must have air-conditioners.” I doubt it but it could be possible. In Louisiana there is a law that laundries hot water must be 120 degrees or greater and the Fire Marshall checks it every year.

Next time - ask them if they have A/C in their house - they probably don't .

That'a HOT!

Not going to attract much biz at that temp. I have 2 non a/c stores, lost of fans, door open, I don;t think they get that hot but I hate going to them in the summer. One I plan to A/c soon, the other is sold. I do notice customers tend to come early of come late.

lease space, and adding new unit or replace old AC unit could cost high...maybe over $20,000 ...so I have no idea and plan to resolve this Hot Summer issue....:-(

Just had some repairs done on my AC units. Besides the obvious of changing your filters often, clean the condensor coils often too. A simple can or two of coil cleaner (get the one with some acid in them) make the coils sparkle. We cleaned them and we brought the pressure down by 50...Less pressure means more efficient. The air was blowing 5-7 degrees cooler...Worth the 15 minutes of cleaning.
