I bought a new energy efficient boiler and energy efficient dryers, that did the trick.

What's up with that name......WhatwasIthinkin? Is there some hidden meaning behind that? Just curious....you don't have to comment if you don't want.

no hidden meaning. left a career on Wall Street and own my first mat. I often think "what was I thinking..." Still like the business though.

There are a couple of car wash sites, I do not have them handy, but google might. I gave up on car wash, just not the numbers or sites make sense.
I still trade some myself, when I try it for a living it was hard, now a hobby it is easy, wonder why> no pressure! One reason I bought my first mat, steady income.

Can someone share with me their yearly gas bill and their dryer revenue?

Why on earth do you want someone's gas bill and dryer revenue? That is almost worthless data, as there are too many variables in there to provide you any value. Every model of dryer uses different amounts of gas in a lab, not to mention in a store where make-up air (or lack thereof) will have a big impact on usage. Further, each store has different washers that extract a different amount of water which means the dryer cycles will vary quite a bit. Further, without knowing the cost per minute of the dryer the revenue number is further misleading.

Try to ask for what it is that you are trying to understand instead.

I do not totaly agree with cleanclothes, I think the gas bill and dryer revenue are a key number to watch. I always keep them at 50% or more, IE, if my dry rev for the month is $1000 I want my gas bill to be less than $500. You can't really do monthy adjustments, but over 6 months you can. I have 5 mats and the numbers are wide, somewhat becuase of variable cleanclothes did mention. Still, you want to know an average I guess. I think a poll is a better way to go. Something like, in the last 12 months what percent of dryer revenue was spent on gas?
Make it mulitiple choice for multi store owners. Maybe have 60%, 55%, 50% etc down to 30%. Have a free dry choice.

Pete I think you missed my point! I agree with you, but what I am saying is that my knowing the ratio in one of your stores is a worthless number as there are many variables that are not included. The number is only worthwhile to compare your store against itself over time, not to compare against another store.

Cleanclothes
I put in new dryers and a new hot water system and (this is hard because my revenue is up) on comparable revenue dollars my accountant says my gas usage is down 32% through the end of June. Now I'm thinking about changing out 2 other stores but I want to make sure that I haven't missed something, thats why I'm asking gas vs revenue. I should have upgraded my best store before a competitor opened up, I won't make that mistake again.

Well the thing that you may have missed (or should I say your accountant may have missed) is that you are probably comparing dollars not therms. Since the price of gas is up the savings are probably not as high as you think.

What type/age dryers and heater did you have, what did you install and what type of costs are you talking about?
