I am still deciding what washer to buy. Has anyone put in the Dexter stack washer dryer in a coinop? Do the customers like these machines?
Are these high extract?

They are the Dexter 200 G force express for a washer so as far as a hardmount machine they are high
We have put several in for owners who like them a great deal. We also have a guy who has some apartment routes who put a bunch in and can not say enough good about them.

Silent; i have some questions
1. when you put in the stack washer/dryer how do you get makeup air to the dryers?
2.So the customers in the stores like the stack washer dryer?
3.Do they have a problem that when a customer is using the washer that the customer feels like he owns the dryer even though he's not using it?

Basically you install it like a dryer and have the water and plumbing in place.
Yes the customers love them from what I have seen. The down side is the next question yes they are seen as one unit, and the customer has the feeling that one should sit well the other is in use. However the flip side is they dont have to cart their laundry across the store.
It is nice to be able to use more vertical space in some situations.....

what do you do about freezing pipes if you install them like a dryer?

Don't mean to be a smart mouth, but is that a big issue in Florida?
Generally you plan for it. I would not choose to install them in an application where that was a major concern. We are in the frozen north and generally tell our owners to keep the pipes in an area that is above 40. If that means we have to heat behind them we can. I have a guy who installed a Motor baffel on his air source for his dryers. It is closed unless they are running. It auto opens the air source. He feels this step keeps it about 50 behind his dryers and his heating cost went down 25-30%.
We have also banked them and run the Dryer vent to the celing. It means a little wider island however it will work.

my sister lives in Conn and is thinking of putting in a store, i'm helping her with the layout, her rent will be very expesive so she will have to get lots of equipment in a small space.
it did get below freezing once at my store, i think it was 1984, and it lasted almost 4 hours.

So if you had a real narrow store would you consider just putting the stacks on one side of the store and leave the other side for folding?

It would depend on your mix. I have seen it done where a owner will run a wall with them. The issue becomes ownership. Sometimes user feel like they have the right to the dryer because they are using the washer. They have about a 50 minute cycle time (Start of wash to dry) If watched. However if you are planning on using the dryers with other equipment you might have an issue. So If you have other equipment you would still need other Stack Dryers and a place for the washers....
