We are opening a new mat shortly and have looked at many dryer options . We are tight for space and believe that our best option is to purchase 16 ADC 360's they provide 520cfm per pocket and about 80,000 btu of heat so as far as a 30lb tumbler they seem to be the best out there.?
Anybody own them out there and does anybody like or dislike them..??

I thought that ADC no longer made 360's and converted everything to the Solaris line...

I have ADC360s in one of my stores for 3 years and they are good machines.
ADC is selling all the old stock out but new machines, even offer special deal but will you buy something no longer been made?I won't.
The long turn support and parts cost will kill you.

Hi Ken, just play along..
If the only choice are:
which do you buy?
A new product line not proven?
Or a discontinued that worked?
Because it is ADC I expect them to have parts for the "old" line for at least 20 years. So new or old? The other thing is there are so many "old" models out there that after market shoudl keep them going for eions! You can still buy parts for SQ wa washers.
The new dryers save gas.
The old dryers cost less to install
The new dryers may not go well alongside other brands.
Buy Dexter?
ADC's parts are always more expensive than others ,the discontinued model will cost even more for parts.
SQ have not changed the base design much for the top loader since CA,so the SA,WA,EA are the same machine.
If I am buying new dryers,I will look into SQ or Dexter, they are the same design for a few years.
I had a lot problems with older Dexter stack, bought 4 newer SS one 3 years ago, work a lot better. The rerasons I bought 4 more Dexter stack,1,they were cheap!they were in a almost new laundromat got burned down, only 4,5 good dryers left after the fire,I bought them cheap, took forever to clean them up 2,I hate to change model .
I won't buy ADC dryers at this time since so many unknown.

That sucks! I have had it happen a couple times though,, still, it sucks!
Best bet is a rivot gun, couple piece of thin alum metal to cover the hole ( top and bottom), rivot it together, sand any sharp edges.
Metal in Dexter baskets get thinner and thinner, what don't?

They seem to have a way of going " obsolete" and parts number just vanish from the parts list with no substitute. It seems they have raise the prices on some older models parts way out of sight as a way to push them off the market. But I feel the 360 should be around for awhile. I do not feel they will try to push these out and alienate people on a model that is still fairly new.
ADC was selling a lot new ,older model parts on Ebay for a while.I don't know why,I guess ADC may no longer carry those parts .

This may be a bad direction but that is why we are here. I would like to hear from ADC and others on issuses which could ingnite a backlash. They could place their customers at ease by answering a few of our questions and remarks.
I would hope the sponsers would look at our questions and remarks as a poll of what their customers see and view their product. Rumors and preception in the market can really hurt their market sales. Just like the situation with maytag-whirlpool
A though statement without any double talk but just plain english to place our concerns at ease would really add credibility to the market.
It would be nice to have a sponser area where they would post responses or updates to help us. We could post question to them. This could be a slippery slope because things are not always a simple answer. Problems do happen could they risk exposing a bigger problem.
All the car companies have to post their recalls. " government requires them" How many commercial recalls have you ever heard of? They have the same problems.
Just another note if people do not know Alliance bought Ipso and Cissell. The latest is they are closing the ipso service center in Fort Mills SC and moving it to Ripon Sept 1st. The cissell should be next. They are really moving everthing north quickly. I realize ipso and cissell in not big in the coin op but jsut some added information
This is how I do it:
1,cut a small metal from the old drum.
2,clean the sand the drum and the metal.
3,use JB weld put it together, use nets and bolts to hold them together overnigh.
4,rivit the 4 corner,may need rivit washers.
If you don'y have old drum, send me a PM,let me know the size you need, your address,name...,I can send you some metal from old drum for free.

We've spent about 6 hours trying to make this look good. Time for a new basket. Have you ever seen what a big hole a nail can make in a perforated basket? And this is not my store.
Dexter offer SS drum now,may last longer.

Companies in business today with products to be shippped with technical laborers MUST be doing something to either reduce expenses or increase their profits. Cost of doing business has increased tremendously over the last few years and things are not looking better is it?
Sometime you must take price out of the equation and put products side by side for comparisons for the real value of each, to identify what machine will be best for your laundromat. The cost of replacement parts may not be an issue when comparing machines. You must compare every aspect of the company including customer service, technical responses and the features and benefits of the machines you are looking at. Going by price is not always the best way to purchase is it? Car manufacturers have governemnt recalls because of safety issues and not for the sole purpose of knowledge of the the consumer. Problems in manufacturing occur sometime as well as changes to a design but be postive the changes are for a variety of reasons and cost and profit are in this equation, however retention of the consumer and future sales are considered when changes are made and you should know that every company needs to change to remain competive. Do you offer the best services in your business? Do you charge a price regadless weather it is considered a premium price or not. People in business should be charging what their market will bear and deliver what is promised as close to 100% of the time as possible. You want repeat business and the best possible consumer response for those that utilize your services.
Regarding issues of technical flaws with the machines, every manufacturer in any business will have issues with product. You'd better put value on the company itself and the people you purchased from because this is where you will benefit in the relationship. I am positive their are issues in every company that manufacturer laundromat equipment, their will be changes every year to keep up with the changes in our ecomony and what you owners need to remain competive in the market place while tyring to reduce your costs. Their is substantial costs in manufacturing today with marketing, advertising and staying competitive and yes for certain companies the ROI for stockholders. The costs of doing business is increasing and the consumer will be seeing these increases passed along to them.
For those of you that pay minimum wage...what will you do when the increase comes? What have you done to keep your profit margin with the cost of your utilities? What changes have you made to be sure your margin increases with the increase in costs?
With this said, sometimes you have to increase your price. Doing business with you may be different than the laundromat across the street. Does all your equipment work at close to 100%, do you keep the cleanest laundromat and provide superior customer service to retain your customers? Do you charge what your market will bear? If you do not you should...
