Any of you own the new Dexters with the emergency stop button? Has this been a problem? Any other issues with the washers in general?

I have many Dexter washers and can say they have been pretty good. The items that need replacing most are the water valves, I use rebuild kits. Figure every 3-4 years. The only other 2 issues are the compartment that the softner goes in gets black gunk after time, and is a constant cleaning problem. I know they changed the shape of the top dispensor so maybe this will go away. It is very hard to keep clean and it builds up quick If a piece of black gunk gets into the washer it stains the clothes. The other problem is the door, and this problem is a Maytag MR series also, but not to the extent. Becuase of the way the door is people tend to let a shoestring, bra strap, piece of anything slightly over the tub ring so when the door is shut the seal is not tight, and the washer leaks like crazy. Having the STOP button is a good idea, they can stop the washer, open the door and put thier stuff completely inside and restart the washer. I am assuming it CAN be restarted by closing the door again??

I completely redid a mat with them about 12 months ago. I saw large saving in water and electricity due to the V drive. The stop button was a concern and I have not heard of a single issue. My concern was we have a number of customers who leave laundry unattended and it was a concern as the youth might run through and push them all. So Far not an issue.
I have two of them - I like them a lot - knowing the previous models didn't have that. WHen a string gets caught, we used to have to go to the back and turn off the power. With the power off button, it's much more convenient and it is even nicer when we are unattendant and customers call for water leak. Now we can walk them through stopping the washer.
I'm actually going to check with the company to see if they can give me the power switches for my previously purchase washers, so I can retrofit them. For my next store, until they came out with the power off switch, I was consdering different washer brand - now I don't have to.

Ajay,
What other brand of washers do you have?
I have continental, SQ, wasco dryers, SQ dryers, Dexter dryers, ADC dryers. My family has owned laundromats for the past 25 years - we have had all brands. The only brand I'm not familar with is Wascomat washers. I have repaired all of them - even Wascos for a friend!!

No but sold several.
Talk to your favorite parts guy. They all do different prices and you might be able to talk them down on it. It actually looks as good as new as it replaces some of the front pannel as well.
Nice thing is it takes away the coin block!
If you can't find it local PM me
