I am curious about how it is going to....
if shopping center(actually management company) put certain restriction of opening hours like " store shall open from 7am to midnight, if open after midnight, pay double amount of rent...", then I think I will have to keep this rule by opening at 7am and close it at midnight....
But my question is do they actually monitor the store close hour?
do they send somebody to watch and check if I open after midnight?
if they do, then how about if I close the door at midnight and turn-off the "OPEN" sign, but customers are in the store after midnight, just wait until their laundry finish and let them go, but no new customers after midbight coming in?
How strictly they apply this "HOUR" rule to tenant?
I appreciate any comments and advise, thx

property management company or not, you want to make it clear that closing time is closing time, whatever time that is. I have a big sign that says DO NOT START WHAT YOU CANNOT FINISH BY 10 (I also have a later version for summertime) I've also seen a lot of laundromats with signs "last wash start by 9" or whatever will get people out by closing time.

think of a supermarket or department store at closing time - with announcements every few minutes until closing "please bring your final selections to the checkout"

If you close at 12, you don't let someone load a washer at 11:45

I don't care what time they start washing at but at 1am the light goes down and they will be in the very low light. But no one is telling me to close and if it were me I would be getting a clear explanation in writing of this before I was taught that double rent lesson.

they said the reason for not allowing after midnight is shopping center safety and preventing some bad-guys plaing around it....
I don't understand it, though.

Anyway, sounds like they not want me to open after midnight since I already asked to open until 2am, but they said "no".
so, I am now thinking about asking only 1 am Sat and Sunday and midnight for Mon~Friday...
But I am hegitate to ask again, because they maybe refuse this offer again...and not even allow midnight option....
What a tough landlord!!
Do they really care their tenant? I don't think SO
