One of my windows is broken. It has a small hole, about the size of a quarter. My insurance policy (CLA) says there is no deductible for broken windows. But, if I file a claim, will they raise my rates or drop me??

Tough spot.
Why not break all of them and get new glass accross the board?
There are other insurance providers.

Your rates will not go up.
How big is the glass?
Check into glass repair, like the auto-glass repair.
Don't be afraid to use something that you pay for (insurance)
That is the biggest scam the insurance companies have going. This mysterious threat of rising premiums if you actually file a claim. You paid for it-us it.

We were told the small claims under a certain dollar amount do not cause our rates to increase. We had a theft a few months back and money was stolen as well as some damages. All was covered after the 250 deductible. The insurance is just that insurance, you use when you need to and for the coverage you pay for.

The Insurance Industry as a whole doesn't like multiply small claims. This coming year I am reveiwing all my insurance coverages and raise the deductibles on all my coverages to the max. That why you should have a business and personal emergency fund for things like this.
I have the same type of hole in one of my windows and I was going to call a auto windshield repair co. and see if they can repair it.
It is reported that the home owners insurance co. all across the country are dropping people for all most any kind of claim.
The insurance companies make they're money with your premiums in the stock market and we all know how it's doing.
It is a very bad time to be drop by any insurance company.

I got the same problem , somebody got a bb gun for Christmas and put two slugs into my storefront. I wish the kid could've at least hit the same window , but he hit two different ones. I'll be talking to my agent tommorow, but I suspect I'll have to file a claim as they are very large windows
