is there any document required in hiring attendant?
I saw before that the applicant filled out one page of form(maybe employment application something..), is this legally required?
as an owner and employer, what do we need to do?
just post "help wanted" and then take an interview and orally agreement...then pay check....is this all?
thanks

Application, w-4 THere is an immigration form I cannot remeber the doc, and I would have the attendant sign the job requirements and expectation of their duties for your records.

Do you have a copy of the generic Coinwash Employee Handbook?

you could just hang a sign, short interview, W2 and I-9 forms, and oral agreement

but its is a much better idea to get a few things in writing

I read through the sample employee handbook and love it
If I had any employees I would definately fill in the blanks and use it

If there is ever a problem that goes to court or some other type of hearing, anything in writing trumps the "he said - she said" diffrences in expectations and agreements that will certainly come up.

Sort of like insurance - just as you don't "plan" to have a fire, you still have insurance

Likewise you don't "plan" to have an unpleasant employee termination but it pays to be prepared and covered.

there is a little paper work in getting set up. You need an FEI from the US goverment, you will have to collect and pay employment taxes. You need a state unemplyment number. You may or may not need worker comp insurance. There are federal requirements for employee paperwork to prove they are legal to work.
