According to some, you should have used the search feature to see if there have been any other threads by new store owners who recently joined, praising this site in the 17 years...

Great idea I read the Testimonials too.

This is a great find. I notice that the trend here to spread information to others.
My question is about smoking, How do you enforce the no smoking rules.
I don't want to be rude but i see a 50 / 50 split.

I don't smoke never have and yes I did seach this.

Not sure what Lashmove was referring to but, I know the smoking issue is what promoted my move to the Internet and thus how I personally found Jonathan and the oldest of Coinwash.com sites...back in the day and for the old timers. a trivia question....what was the music playing on the old old sight????

I know it was a struggle for the owner of the stores I was managing to decide what to do regarding smoking, but when he did, he was very happy with his decision. We went 100% NON SMOKINGThere was never any complaints.

I made a sign...
In order to provide our customers an atmosphere where everyone can wash and dry and maintain the cleanest clothes possible ___________________ will be a NO SMOKING establishment.

We thank you for your patronage. We have for your convenience urns for outdoor smoking.
Thank you!

I just have lots of NO SMOKING signs and rarely get an offender.
Wouldn't know what to say if I caught them in the act as the few I've noticed were on their way out the door anyway when I spotted them

I went non-smoking some time ago. Just put up no smoking signs. Make sure you put one on the door coming in the place. Never had a problum. Had 1 or 2 minor complaints, and many many thank you's.

I have big signs, they say " please smoke outside" along with the no smoking signs on the doors. Not many offend.

I agree w/ the no smoking. People are comming to your place to clean clothes; they don't want to leave w/ them smelling like smoke. It's not that hard for smokers to step outside. In fact, I'm one of the ones taking the walk myself.
