View Full Version : mars acceptors stealing bills

I just upgraded a hamilton and a standard changer to mars acceptors, using kits from capitalvending.com.

Now after about a week, I've had 3 reports of bills being sucked in, retained, and no money paid out.

Anyone have similar experiences with mars acceptors?

Ugh, I thought my changer reliability would be near 100% with new acceptor/stacker guts. Dang, dang, dang!!

I coinco acceptors that are two years old and have have almost no problems up to this point, but a few weeks ago they started sucking mostly $5 bills and a few $1 bills. I called Standard and they said to just blow it out and that should fix it. It has only stolen about five bills but I hate for that to happen.

Once in a while the bills will get stuck if there torn or really old or new. If it happens to much the belts need to be changed and serviced. Blow them out with can air every few weeks too

I spoke to Coinco's service menager in Chicago area 2 years ago,he told me nothing they can do about the strung, asked me to install a good camera system, turn off $10 and $20,what a joke.

Very true. The guy down the street told me he got strung just last week. Now he has the changer on a timer, off at 11pm, on at 6 am. 24hr store. It was a 3 am deal. Got him on video, but can not see his hands on the device, so cops won't do anything.

my standard changer in the laundromat has a pyramid apex validator

anyone remeber when the new 10's come out?

the american changer in the carwash has a coinco validator which rarely accepts 5s and rejects quite a few ones also

I'll add a standard for dollar coins eventually, probably in the fall at the same time as replacing a lot of coin drops to dual ( dollar or quarter )

I hace retrofited mars validators into American changers and every now and then they will take a $5 and not give change. About 1 time in 5000 bills. When the same bill is tried after restart they work fine. I figure that it is a software glich and just live with it. It is better than being strung. Tom
