Lets face it when bearing are going to go they go. I don't care what machine you buy. There isn't really that much of a difference between brands for the most part. What separates them from one another is what is involved to replace them and the cost to do it.
Ipso are the easiest. No need to remove the washer from the pad, No need to take the whole he door lock drum assy out as in a Wasco. No need to replace/rebuild the basket as with most Alliance bearing jobs.
I poped out 4 35LBS Laundercenter/ Ipso baskets in less than an hour from a place just the other day.
There are about 8 bolts/screws (give or take) that remove the front panel. Then you have 2 that hold door lock assy. Then about a dozen spped clips thatg hold the front shell. With that done you have the whole basket exposed and are ready to work on the back.
Remove the back panel, belt, pulley, hub (if 35 lbs or larger), use puller and remove basket. Then remove seal plate, bearings. NO NEED TO REMOVE THE BEARING HOUSING!!! Next, reverse to install new stuff and your done. No silicone or grease needed. Carbon seal should be dry. This is the same type of carbon seal that Maytag has been using for the last 25+ years on there Toploaders.
There is no comparison vs the Alliance machines musch easier. Again, no need to remove the Bearing housing to replace seal/bearings.
