anyone have Solaris 2929??

i was all set to buy the Solaris 3131 now i read that there is a 2929, why would ADC make both?

According to ADC's specs, the 2929 is a slimmer version of the 3131;
the 2929 is only 27 inches wide and the 3131 is just over 31 inches wide. The specs say both are 30 lb. dryers; the 2929's tumbler has a volume of 10-1/4 cubic feet versus the 3131's 11 cubic feet. But there's (at least) two things you need to check out: (1) the 2929 is rated at a relatively puny 200 cfm through a 4 in outlet duct, while the 3131 claims a 360 cfm airflow through a 6 inch outlet, and (2) in order to get that 10-1/4 cubic feet tumbler volume with a smaller diameter (which it needs to get that 27 inch width), the 2929's tumbler is a whopping 34 inches deep.

We looked, briefly, at the 2929s for a location with serious space issues and decided that 34 inch deep drum was just too long a reach for our customers. We'll have to settle for something with less capacity.

thanks Jim, my problem is that I have a wall space problem so the 27" width is really appealing. What machines did you end up putting in? Are there other narrow stack dryers?
