View Full Version : Out Of Order
Looking for a vender for "Out Of Order" Signs. I can't seem to locate any dealers. Should I try making them myself?

I made mine myself - do you have a computer? Printed a few signs, put some clear laminate paper on them, and they've been there for 4 years now. I'd suggest putting them in Spanish also -- freetranslation.com will do it if you do habla espanol.

"Out of order" signs (especially hand scribbled ones) make the machine sound so broken. I prefer computer signs that say "Temporarily out of service. We're working on it".

Do a search on this site...one of our members posted their signs, I was able to print and copy it...I think it was Pete... and it looked very professional...

Do you have that many machines out of order and do they break that much that you need to get special signs for them?

Sometimes you do not even need one. Just yesterday I got a call from a customer telling me the washers he was using all broke. I started to ask questions to determine the problem, first thought was the power went off. He was saying they were not spinning and not counting down time, stuck on 9 and the others stuck on 13. With the LED display lit I was wondering, he says no cycle light is on ( Dexter's.) I ask him to try and open the door. He does, then says he thinks the washer is finished, he just did not realize it had completed the cycle while he was not watching it! Problem solved.

Pete Dont you wish all the calls were so easy. We had a guy fill a 40 # washer with clothes start the machine and leave. When he returned he woundered why his stuff was not dry. He just wanted to dry. Owning a mat is kinda like teaching school .

Neal, I have heard of customers tossing thier clothes AND SOAP in a dryer pocket expecting a wash..
I had a lady call the other day, seems the toploader stopped working, and was "smoking". I found out she had a queen comfortor jammed in the washer. She did not like me telling her the washer was not big enough for that. I hung up on her when she started screaming and told me my washers were a piece of sh ek ek . She called back about 2 mins later, wanted to know if I hung up. I siad I thought I lost her call when she was telling me about my washers. Then said just fill out an out of order card, I always refund even when it is the customers' fault. The top is only $1, I mean, what does she want?. She ended up extracting it from my cleaning lady the next day. I told my lady next time she sees her to tell her to stay out of my store, I don't want her business. Can't please them all.

Pete, I've had the same problem with top loaders (overloading and burning). I'll never buy another top loader!!!
