I just bought two new Stainless steel Front Loaders. After the first day in use my 40#er became tarnished. Actually the very first time someone spilled something on it it became tarnished. I have tried everything to fix it. I have three year old machines and a one year old machine and another machine I got the same day as the new 40#er. And they are fine no tarnish at all. But the 40#er gets worse and worse every day. What could cause this. The machine is now only two weeks old and looks horrible. i have tried polishing it and clean it as soon as someone spills something on it. Nothing helps. With every new spill there is a new stain.

Search stainless steel, this has been discussed before, and how to clean. I have stains on most my washers, I live with it. And yes, some started the day they were first used. Wonder why they call it stainless steel?

What brand of washers are they?

Don't waste anymore time. Get some Aluminum Cleaner at the nearest True Value hardware store. I have tried everything and nothing works better than this stuff. It actually cleans the stainless steel instead of just covering up the stains.

We clean ours then use lemon oil to keep them clean and free from stains. It works so far and its cheap too.

spraying and wiping with wd-40 works pretty well too.

Wipe down the machines daily with WD40 once a month clean with Aluminum Brightener from NAPA.

Aluminum Brightener gets the soap stains off while the WD40 makes the machines look shiny.

Aluminum Brightener is a great product BUT follow the instructions and use gloves when using.
