shopping center or regular block

hy i want to open my first place and i am not sure should i open in a shoppping center near other stores that the traffic from the shopping center will bring in more customers. the thing is i have a location on a busy block right in middle of the highest rental part of the hole town which is %50 renters, will i stilll make money eventhough i am not near a shopping center or a grocery store? i see that most of the laundromats are in a strip mall or near a grocery store, could i still make money if i am not?

The best place is one that will support the mat. Being in a shopping center or strip center has nothing to do with it, although many end up there becuase of zoning laws and/or lack of better loctions. My 2 best stores are stand alone buildings.

Pete is right on the money. I actually don't care for strip center mats.LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION! I have a stand alone across from a hospital my other ones are in strips the stand alone does the best because the hospital employs 900!
