Hello,
I am researching existing mats for sale in my area but can't find any that i can afford. However, south of where I live (about 3-4hrs) there are quite a few mats in my price range. I wanted to know if you recommend running a mat so far away from where u live or does it really matter?

If you had a kitty around the you might could do it...;)
But then you have to remember you will be at the mercy of whomever you find to look after the place. It is done all the time, so it is not an unusual thing, but I'd say there would be quite a few headaches to go along with that store, unless you found a really great person to run the day to day operations, I wouldn't consider it. Being that far you would have to give out keys, changer keys and control of the business if you wanted it to operate smoothly. You'd have to give trust yet maintain a verification system. I can't imagine you'd be conisdering an unattended store so far away? The industry is gearing this business toward service, equipment, aesthetics and size. What will this store offer the community it didn't before, how can you improve the business that is already there?

Not a chance. A single trip will take you an entire day. Problems, you're in big trouble.
45 minutes max

No way, I have a 20minute ride and sometimes that's to far. But really 30 minutes would be the max for me.

Just move over there if you really want the mat. I want to be 10 mins away

I'm ONE mile from my mat, and I *still* blew off going there tonight for money collection, since I can go tomorrow on MLK day when I am off my 'real' job.
a mat hours away from home? No way. Maybe if it was a mega-mat making mega-money and you could just be an absentee owner. I'm guessing those deals are pretty rare :)
