What happens to them if I dont need this assistaance anymore. Like it would be run by the family? Can u just fire them?

Simple answer is yes you can "lay them off". You should have the old owner terminate them on the day keys are handed over.

what was written in your intent to purchase contract about emplyees? If you fire them then the unemployment comes on you. If the other guy fires them then your clean. It may cost you higher unemployment tax.
