January 1st, our TL prices will be increased; currently, the price is
an embarrassing 99cents. The next size machine, Huebsch FL is at $1.49. What increment spread would anyone suggest for the TL---10, 20, 30 cents OR??? We use a card system so changing prices is done within minutes.

First you should determine what your cost (rent/mortage, interest, taxes, elec. water, ng, insur. labor, maint.,...)is to operate those machines and decide what your margin should be, taking into account any competition. Then set your prices accordingly.
The spread (difference in vend amount per machine type) will be some function of the difference in machine size and operating cost for each machine type.

you could get in on the bottom pricing we never see anymore at 1.25 or 1.23 for tops, try 1.79/89/99 for 18's
99 cents? why bother.
I know, LA pricing. how are LA profits??

Pete--
We charge 99cents because the local "competition" read "dumps"
are priced as low as 50cents!!! Around the corner, the big sign reads "75cent Wash". Do you think a 30cent jump is too much?
LA profits are easily eaten up by high rent; however HL appears to be doing extremely well although he's located is an area where the rent is considerably cheaper than mine, I think. I gather from his remarks that he's quite an operator and I say that with all due respect!

My rent is over $3200 and my CAM is a killer. I almost take offense to the cheap rent idea

PS...I'm just lucky.
And furthermore the jerk 4 blocks away that has the "flagship" of the neighborhood has not raised in the 2.5 years in business. I am already higher than him and I really can't justify going higher. I keep hoping he will make a move,

Hi Beverly
must have cheap water sewer out there, I figure it cost at leats 45 cents to run a top loader. remember, if the 75 cent wash was such a great deal nobody would come to your store, they all would go to that one. So much for pricing issues.
Is'nt your store fairly new?

Water is cheap and sewer cost nothing.
